Michael Grimm, ‘America’s Got Talent’ winner, plans to propose to girlfriend and inspiration, Lucie

The Mississippi crooner, who won the show’s fifth season Wednesday night, told People.com he now plans to propose to his girlfriend of three years, Lucie.

Grimm’s special lady inspired him to sing Percy Sledge‘s “When a Man Loves a Woman” on Tuesday night, which turned out to be his best performance of the season.

“That’s my girl,” he told the gossip website, “and I’m not going to let that one go.”

“She smiled at me and I almost vomited,” he told People.com of the gorgeous singer. “I couldn’t believe she smiled at me that way!”

As for the woman he beat – 10-year-old Jackie Evancho – Grimm still can’t believe his luck.
