With his soulful voice and earthy Southern charm, Mississippi-bred and Las Vegas local Michael Grimm charmed millions of viewers as a contestant on Season Five of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” parlaying his substantial singer-songwriter appeal into a first-place finish, earning himself a devoted fan base of millions. Now, the southern crooner is satisfying their hunger for more.
During the week of June 11th, Michael Grimm gives back to the fans with the release of a fun summer album entitled “GUMBO.” “Gumbo” is a compilation of songs in several genres, giving you a prelude of Michael’s upcoming four album series. “Gumbo” will feature originals and covers while being a self-made product from the inside out. Leaving processed and sequenced music at the door, Michael releases an album that is raw, unplugged and artistically his – all the way down to the cover art, which depicts the musicians that played on the album, painted by Michael’s very hand… a true artist!
This album features Michael Grimm with musicians Bruce Wallace, John Wedemeyer, Dave Hart and Jim Buck (depicted from left to right on the album cover). Also making cameos on the album are Lenny Lopez, Danny Garay, Ines Zak and Lucie Zolcerova.
“This is a fun summer album of some of my favorites that I wanted to give to the fans to enjoy,” says Michael.
“GUMBO” is now on pre-order on the online Michael Grimm Store accessed through: www.MichaelGrimmMusic.com/store
Last year, Michael released a soulful rock Album with Epic Records that was produced by GRAMMY-award winner Don Was (The Rolling Stones, Elton John, Bonnie Raitt), who admitted he jumped at the chance to work with Michael after the singer won America’s Got Talent.
“Michael is one of the greatest vocalists I have ever had the privilege to record,” says Was. “He is a world class singer with a level of professionalism that is extremely rare.”
After the release of last year’s Was-produced Album, which hit #13 on the Billboard charts, Michael married his sweetheart Lucie Zolcerova, and then spent the remainder of the year touring with rock legends Stevie Nicks and Waddy Wachtel, who also played guitar on Michael’s Epic Album.
This year, Michael moved his Grandparents into their new, custom-built home (which he promised to build them on National Television should he win America’s Got Talent), signed a Las Vegas headlining contract with Green Valley Ranch Resort (performing every Saturday at the beautiful Ovation Room) and then focused all energies on the making of his albums. “Gumbo” is a taste of what is to come.
“GUMBO” will also be available via iTunes, CDbaby and Amazon by the release date.
