You may have seen posts for the first couple of singles ('Humdinger' and 'How You Are') and you may have even seen, or gone to, the Album Release Concert & Afterparty celebrating the completion of my latest album! It's true! My latest album entitled, The Red Album, is finished and those that supported the project by pre-ordering or attending the special event all received early copies. The album will be released on June 25th and it is something that I am really excited about.
This album is a collection of originals resurrected from my youth. I refers to these songs as my red-headed step children. Some were released when I was a teen and some were never heard. I wrote the majority of the songs both lyrically and musically. 'How You Are, ''Night Like Tonight,' and 'Don't Let Go' were lyrically collaborated on with the talented Kevin Hunter. While 'Dancing With Angels' and 'Taking Out The Trash' were co-written with Sturken & Rogers. I rounded the album off with a couple of covers that were personal to me - 'Rainbow Connection,' which is one of my favorite songs and 'Humdinger,' which I recorded when I was young and my wife has been bugging me to lay down on an official album. So, there it is.
The album was beautifully produced in Las Vegas by Bobby Ferrari at Skeleton Key Recording, the Las Vegas band I play with at Smith Center came in and played all the tracks, everyone put in their own DNA into the project and I feel like it might actually be one of my favorite works. To finalize the artistry of this album, I am so blessed to say that artist and friend Neal Portnoy (www.portnoygallary.com) offered to hand-draw my album cover. He even drew some of the insert graphics while watching the magic take place in the studio! It turned out to be the coolest thing ever! Lucie digitized it and did the graphic art on the album to put all the pieces together.
Without even realizing it or intending it, the album has several songs that will resinate with people given the state of affairs today. Most notably 'Sit Down And Shut Up,' "How You Are,' 'Rainbow Connection,' 'I Don't Want To Be Alone' and 'Taking Out The Trash.' While every person will find a song they resonate with more than another, these songs seem to capture a lot of what people want to say or are saying already. So, let me know which one resonates with you!
Facebook will have photos from the Album Release Concert and we did record it, so if you were unable to attend, you can watch it from the comfort of your own home here: WATCH.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do and please, the biggest compliment you can give me is to share it with as many people as you can! Word of mouth is always the best advertising! If you still need to pre-order a copy you can do so by clicking here: PRE-ORDER.
